A Little Kindness

This week, we start with a video of Pre-K dancing to a Panic! At the Disco song, which turned out to be one of our favorite dance songs yet.

In library this week, we've started talking about acts of kindness. Over the next week, students will focus on noticing when people are kind to them so they can identify who gave them "the kindness bug". We also talked about humility and performing acts of kindness without recognition. The students shared some great thoughts about this.

In music, we are still playing-away at our piano unit, using both iPads and pianos for learning. Over the next few weeks, students should be sharing some of their progress on their blogs.

Students in K-8 will use an iPad application called Piano Maestro, which is free to PRIS students since they already have accounts. Grades 3-8 should know their account information and the application can be used at home. If your student is in Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grade, please contact Ms. Megan if you are interested in using the iPad app. at home.

Our Middle School students are taking a Behind-the-Scenes elective this trimester, focusing on sets and costumes from The Wizard of Oz. Here are some pictures of them in action. Thanks to Mrs. Craig for leading this elective.

Musical Rehearsals for Grades 3-8 are underway. Here is a copy of the Rehearsal Calendar for the remainder of the rehearsal process (from now to March 11). You can also visit the right side of this blog, where there is a Google Calendar Rehearsal Schedule. If you press the + sign in the bottom right, you can add it to your own Google Calendar.

Look for more posts, videos, recordings, and resources on the blog and PRIS Music & Library YouTube page (and subscribe!) and feel free to share with families. Don't forget to follow us on Instagram.
