Two Weeks Out

Our video this week comes from Grades 1-4, who tell us from whom they "caught the kindness bug".

We continued our kindness unit this week by discussing how we can be kind to the plants, animals, and insects in our environment.

In music, we are hard at work on the iPads and pianos. All students in Grades Pre-K through Grade 8 will be uploading a video to their personal blogs in the next few weeks. Be on the look-out! Students in K-8 are using an iPad application called Piano Maestro, which is free to PRIS students since they already have accounts. Grades 3-8 should know their account information and the application can be used at home. If your student is in Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grade, please contact Ms. Megan if you are interested in using the iPad app. at home.

We are two weeks away from our performance of Wizard of Oz. We took an all-cast picture this week:

The assistants and teachers have been hard at work finishing costumes, props, and accessories this week, as well!

And we have been busy at all-cast rehearsals.

We hope you will join us.
Musical Rehearsals for Grades 3-8 are underway. We're getting close! Here is a copy of the Rehearsal Calendar for the remainder of the rehearsal process (from now to March 11). You can also visit the right side of this blog, where there is a Google Calendar Rehearsal Schedule. If you press the + sign in the bottom right, you can add it to your own Google Calendar.

The Kindness Bug

Another video from Kindergarten this week as they demonstrate their new warm-up song, Head & Shoulders, Baby and their new classical piece of music, Flight of the Bumblebee. For the latter, students are pretending to be bees and flowers, getting pollen from the flowers and taking it back to the hive.

Students are still working hard at their piano and iPad unit. All students in Grades Pre-K through Grade 8 will be uploading a video to their personal blogs in the next few weeks. Be on the look-out! Students in K-8 are using an iPad application called Piano Maestro, which is free to PRIS students since they already have accounts. In library, students are "catching the kindness bug". If a student noticed someone else doing something kind with humility, they write it on a lady-bug and display it on the library windows. Stop by the hallway outside the library to see what acts of kindness our students have noticed.

This week, we had our first rehearsal with the entire cast, Grades 1-8, and it went amazingly! Students and teachers are also busy making props, altering costumes, preparing accessories, and painting sets. This is a whole-school effort!

Save the Date!

We have a VERY short video this week! The Kindergarten class could not stop dancing and singing Silento's "Watch Me". Sometimes you just have to take a short break and dance/sing to get the song out of your head, so that's what we did:

Save the Date! It's coming!
Our days this week were filled with Day 100, PE Performance, and Valentine's Celebration, so we focused on review in music and library.
