Also, two students composed a special song (lyrics, music and dance) to remind us to learn over break.
Lyrics:
It may be the start of fall break,
But we won’t let it upset us,
It may be a pause in our learning race,
But we won’t stop learning.
Because on this break we’ll go to,
Bali, Singapore, and Jakarta too (Jakarta
too),
And study them as a team,
So everyone on their feet,
And learn, learn, learn!
And dance to our funky beat.
Learn, learn, learn,
Learn.
All classes were introduced to their Winter Concert songs this week, learning a few lyrics and actions along the way. In the next couple weeks, lyric videos will start going up so students can practice and learn the songs at home. Remember, the best way to learn and memorize song is by repetitive listening. I recommend students listen-to/sing the songs at least once per day, which should take less than five minutes.
The Grade 1-2 Class doing a standing warm-up:
The middle schoolers enjoying their dance song at the end of class:
In library, Grades PK3-2 enjoyed two books, If Rocks Could Sing by Leslie McGuirk and Too Tall Houses by Gianna Marino. The Grade 3-4 class read another short story out of the book, which we also read last week, Short Stories for Kids: Fun Stories for Children by Karen Cossey.
And here's an update from drama club. Students are busy learning to express emotion, working on memorizing monologues and performing for the class.
Have a wonderful break! Stay tuned for more from our PRIS Students and don't forget to check out the library and music YouTube page (and subscribe)!
