First Week Down

We have finished our first week in music, and we have a few more pictures and a special video to share.

Our video comes from Grades 3/4 as they present our newest "Hello" song. All PRIS students will learn this song, singing it weekly during music class. It promotes peace and diversity, celebrating the differences in culture and language at PRIS. The video only includes Part 1 (of 3), with another verse presented next week. By the end of the song, we hope every language represented at PRIS will also be represented in the song.

Part 1 Lyrics:
Hello, Bon Jour, Buenos Dias,
G’day, Guten Tag, Konichiwa,
Ciao, Ni Xao, Selamat Pagi,
Hello to all the children of the world!

Here are a few pictures to enjoy from the rest of our week.

Welcome Back, Musicians

We had a WONDERFUL first day, from assembly to final gong. There were only two music classes, but we filled the two hours with a new hello song (recording to come) called, Hello to All the Children of the World. This song is in several languages and we plan to add more.

We are resurrecting We Are Children of Peace to prepare for this year's International Day of Peace. Please see the Grade 3/4s recording of this song from last year.

Our music room has been changed a bit, with the addition of many music storybooks. Literacy integration will be a focus in the music class this year.

As always, we danced to a popular song from the summer, Drag Me Down by One Direction at the end of class.
