We're Still Singing!

The end of the year may be approaching, but we're still busy singing, reading, dancing, and having a great time in music and library. To start, we have the Middle School GarageBand projects. Each video contains a few of the projects that the students created using GarageBand. Notice the great use of loops, original composition, and voice recording.

Remember, the end-of-year concert, The PRIS Factor is quickly approaching. The evening will include an art auction at 6:00 p.m., concert at 6:30 p.m., and art bazaar at 7:45 p.m. Students should come to the auditorium by 6:10 p.m. dressed in their "own style". Our focus is unique students supporting each other as a team!

It would be hugely helpful if the students could review the songs at home, either by watching the videos or even just listening to the songs in the background while doing other things.

You can just select the video matching the appropriate grade-level.

MP3s, Lyrics and Downloadable videos: PRIS Factor Practice Folder (Google Drive)
Rather not rely on the internet? The above folder will allow you to download the lyric powerpoint, the MP3s (audio only) and the videos into a format compatible with most devices. This way the kids can practice anywhere, anytime.

We are hoping for good concert attendance on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the PRCC. If your student will not be able to attend, please let me know as soon as possible.

Students are almost ready for the concert, putting the final touches on their "acts". After a class of intense rehearsal, students like to let-loose by dancing.

Please look under those beds, in those cabinets, and between those couch cushions for any missing library books. All library books should be returned to school this week. S

Students may be finished checking-out, but we are still reading and discussing our monthly counseling themes of transition and positive friendships. The students created a beautiful bulletin board outside of Mrs. Sadek's room and we are reading books to help students cope with change.

Transitions, Fish, and Concert Prep!

Here are some highlights of our practice as we progress toward our presentation of THE PRIS FACTOR, taking place at 6:30 p.m. in the PRCC on Wednesday, June 10, 2015.

As our end-of-year-concert, THE PRIS FACTOR, quickly approaches, many students have asked for ways they can practice or listen-to the songs at home. It would be hugely helpful if the students could review the songs at home, either by watching the videos or even just listening to the songs in the background while doing other things.

You can just select the video matching the appropriate grade-level.

We are hoping for good concert attendance on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the PRCC. If your student will not be able to attend, please let me know as soon as possible.

In addition to preparing for our concert in music class, we are also throwing in some fun dance, instrument, and video activities.

Students in the Talent Show ASA are busy preparing their solo and duo talents, as well!

Last week during library, students spent some time on transitions, the May/June counseling theme. Students discussed transitions, both big and small, and what kinds of feeling can come about during times of change. Then, K-8 students wrote their "Transitions Tweet" anonymously on paper. The students' feelings about change are displayed on the library doors, #transitions.

This week, students have been working on another school-wide theme, remembering the responsibilities that come with being in friendships and within communities. Mrs. Sadek and Mr. Fiersen posted a wonderful saying on a bulletin board in the hallway, "We are all different fish, but in this school, we swim together." Students have spent some time decorating their unique fish and they will be displayed next week on this board. Stop by and have a look!

This is the last week to check-out, so students are busy finding their favorite books to see one last time before the summer. Please return all books and materials to the library by Friday, May 29.
